Travel

Local travel info:

Traveling from Nagoya Station to the Sakata-Hirata Hall using public transport.

It costs 270 JPY by metro. You may buy a Japanese IC card in any given stations or pay your tickets by cash. It makes your life slightly easier if you get an IC card (e.g., Manaca, Suica, Icoca etc.) upon your arrival to the first station. First take a metro in Higashiyama Line to Motoyama (towards: Fujigaoka). At Motoyama, take another metro in Meijo Line to Nagoya Daigaku Mae Station (towards: clockwise direction). At Nagoya Daigaku Mae Station, get to Exit 3 and head eastward. It takes 3 min by walk.

Traveling from Centrair Airport to Nagoya Station using public transport.

Take μ Sky Train from the airport to Nagoya Station. It takes 30 -- 40 min and costs 980 JPY (+450 JPY for express train). We strongly recommend you to think twice if you take a flight in the early morning. The public transport starts operation at ≈ 05:20 or even later. Some early flights are extremely difficult to catch.

Traveling from Narita Airport to Nagoya Station using public transport.

Take Narita Express from the airport to Tokyo Station. It takes 1 hour and costs 3070 JPY (express ticket included). At Tokyo Station, take Shinkansen (Nozomi Superexpress) to Nagoya Station. It takes 2 hours and costs approximately 11000 JPY. You may wish to take a domestic flight. However, in reality, it is much faster and efficient to take Shinkansen (Nozomi Superexpress) to Nagoya Station.
