PSTEP Science meeting “Prospects of Modeling Studies for Solar-Terrestrial Environment Prediction”

A domestic science meeting entitled “Prospects of Modeling Studies for Solar-Terrestrial Environment Prediction” was held at the Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research, Nagoya University on January 26-27, 2017. During this meeting, 21 key talks and 11 posters were presented on numerical modeling studies for various phenomena in the solar-terrestrial environment, covering the Sun, heliosphere, magnetosphere, ionosphere, and atmosphere. For the first time, we also discussed new modeling techniques, model validations, and international cooperation for modeling research.

This meeting will be held recurrently as a series focusing on different research themes from the large scope of the solar-terrestrial environment prediction. These meetings will be expected to contribute to the advance of our modeling studies through interactions between different fields/communities.
