Designated Assistant Professor Sachie Kanada and her colleague of Nagoya University is awarded the MSJ SOLA Award in 2023

A scientific paper titled “Observed Concentric Eyewalls of Supertyphoon Hinnamnor (2022)” by Designated Assistant Professor Sachie Kanada of ISEE, Nagoya University is awarded the MSJ SOLA Award in 2023. The SOLA Award is given to one or two outstanding papers published each year by the Editorial Committee of the Scientific Online Letters on the Atmosphere (SOLA). The present study documented the evolution of inner-core structures during the early stage of secondary eyewall formation using high-resolution data from ground-based radars.

The JMA weather radar captured detailed concentric eyewall structures of Supertyphoon Hinnamnor (2022).
