Request for Nomination of Candidates
The Institute for Space–Earth Environmental Research (hereinafter referred to as “the Institute”) aims to promote the advancement of space–earth environmental research, foster integration across related fields, and encourage the development of new research areas. To this end, the Institute will recognize outstanding contributions to its joint usage and joint research activities—such as research support, technical assistance, educational and outreach activities, and long-term involvement—through the ISEE Joint Usage/Research Contribution Award.
We are now accepting nominations for candidates as outlined below, and we kindly request your cooperation in submitting recommendations.
Details
■ Eligibility
Individuals (excluding full-time faculty members exclusively appointed to the Institute) or research teams who have made significant contributions to the Institute’s joint usage and joint research activities—through research support, technical assistance, educational/outreach efforts, or long-term engagement—thereby greatly advancing space–earth environmental research, promoting interdisciplinary integration, and fostering new research fields.
All types of joint usage and joint research, including past projects, are eligible regardless of affiliation or nationality.
■ Awarding Authority
Director, Institute for Space–Earth Environmental Research, Nagoya University
■ Award Details
The award will, in principle, be presented once per fiscal year, with up to three recipients.
Each awardee will receive a certificate and a commemorative gift, and their achievements will be featured on the Institute’s website.
■ Award Ceremony
The ceremony will be held during the ISEE Joint Usage/Research Community Meeting or at related academic gatherings.
■ Selection Process
Candidates will be evaluated by the ISEE Joint Usage/Research Contribution Award Selection Committee, organized under the Institute Director. The committee’s recommendations will be approved by the Institute Management Council, and final decisions will be made by the Institute Faculty Meeting.
■ Nomination Procedure and Deadline
Nominations (including self-nominations) are welcomed from all communities involved in space–earth environmental research.
Please prepare a nomination letter in Microsoft Word or plain text format, including the following information, and submit it by email to the address below before the deadline.
Required Information (format is flexible)：
1. Name, affiliation, email address, and phone number of the nominator
2. Name, affiliation, email address, and phone number of the candidate (or representative and all members if a research team)
3. Reason for nomination
4. List of the candidate’s joint usage/joint research projects with ISEE and related publications
