Solar observation satellite “Hinode” was developed by the cooperation of Japan, the United States, and Europe, and was launched by JAXA in 2006.
Since then, Hinode succeeded the continuous observation during 10 years up to the present, and Hinode produced more than 1,100 academic papers about various discoveries. Hinode is the most successful mission in Japanese space science satellites.

Hinode-10 Science Meeting, that is the 10th anniversary meeting of Hinode, was held from September 5 to 9, 2016 at Sakata-Hirata Hall in Nagoya University. More than 160 solar physicists attended to this meeting from Japan, the United States, the UK, Norway, Spain, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic, France, India, China, South Korea, Egypt, and Iran. This meeting has also been recognized as the International Collaboration Meeting of Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research (ISEE), and ISEE played a role as the host institute of Hinode-10. Hinode-10 is also the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ) Symposium. In the meeting, a variety of scientific results by the Hinode satellite of 10 years and the new development of solar physics based on the observations by Hinode were actively discussed.

In addition, on the final day of the conference (Sep 9, 2016), SOLAR-C Science Meeting was also held to discuss about the next generation solar physics space mission. The International Conference on Solar Physics with Radio Observations was also held on September 9-10 as another satellite meeting. On September 10, the Hinode satellite 10th Anniversary Public Lecture: Exploring the Universe and the Earth from the Solar Observation was held by the cooperation of ISEE, NAOJ, and ISAS/JAXA, and more than 240 citizens participated.
