The OPTN will develop strategies aimed at creating transdisciplinary research that integrates the humanities and sciences through the organic collaboration of the research achievements at ISEE and Nagoya University’s diverse research capabilities. The OTPN will work in partnership with the ISEE Collaborative Research Committee to promote research meetings, international schools, joint usage/research, and the development of international researchers, while also closely collaborating with the Office for the Development of Interdisciplinary Research Strategy (ODIRS) to advance a broad range of interdisciplinary research. Futhermore, the office will employ specially appointed faculty and researchers at ISEE or participating institutions, and through collaboration, will conduct joint research with domestic and international institutions to form the Transdisciplinary Network linking Space–Earth Environmental Science, History, and Archaeology. Additionally, to advance this new field of interdisciplinary research, the office will recruit doctoral students nationwide to promote their training as next-generation international talents with broad perspectives in both the humanities and sciences, in collaboration with ISEE and the affiliated universities. Starting in FY2025, ISEE Joint Usage/Research will include a “Transdisciplinary Network Formation” category, promoting publicly solicited joint usage/research.
